Editorial policy

Haber Nexus aims to give readers accurate, timely and clear news. This page explains how we prepare our stories, the rules we follow and how we use artificial intelligence.

Accuracy and sourcing

  • We base our reporting on statements from official institutions, news agencies and reliable news organisations.
  • The sources used in a story are listed with links in the Sources section at the end of the article.
  • We do not present unverified claims from a single source as fact; where we report a claim, we say clearly who made it.
  • We check figures, dates, names and quotes against their sources. We do not copy text from our sources; we write stories in our own words.
  • Turkish names, institutions and places are written in their correct form, with a short explanation where an international reader may need context.

Impartiality and independence

  • We report events and keep comment and opinion separate from news.
  • Political, commercial or personal interests do not decide what we cover or how we cover it.
  • Advertising and sponsored content is clearly separated from journalism and labelled "Ad" or "Sponsored".

How we use AI

We use artificial intelligence at some stages of our work and we are open with readers about it:

  • Monitoring the news: news sources are scanned automatically, reports about the same event are grouped together and ranked by importance.
  • Writing: some stories are compiled from several sources with the help of AI. These stories are credited to the publication or to one of our AI editor profiles, never presented as the work of a real person, and are marked "AI-assisted".
  • Images: images generated by AI, or images that do not show the actual event, are labelled "Illustrative".
  • Review: AI-assisted stories pass quality and consistency checks before publication, are monitored by our editors after publication, and are corrected or removed when needed.

Privacy and dignity

  • We do not report on people's private lives unless there is a clear public interest.
  • We respect the presumption of innocence and do not describe anyone as guilty without a court ruling.
  • We do not publish information or images that could identify children or victims of violence and abuse.
  • We do not give space to hate speech, discrimination or incitement to violence.

Corrections and feedback

When we get something wrong, we say so and fix it. See our corrections policy. To send feedback, a correction or a right-of-reply request, use our contact page.
