The United States has announced a reward of up to $20 million and possible relocation for individuals who provide actionable intelligence regarding Iran's nuclear program.
The initiative is managed by the State Department's Rewards for Justice program and was confirmed by US Central Command (CENTCOM) on Friday, as reported by Al-Monitor. According to the military statement, Washington is seeking detailed information about Iranian nuclear facilities, specialized equipment, and associated personnel, specifically targeting members of the country's scientific community.
Concerns Over Nuclear Oversight
The US State Department linked the reward offer to a growing lack of international visibility into Tehran's atomic activities. According to Euronews, the department stated that the Iranian government's failure to comply with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards obligations has caused the UN nuclear watchdog to lose its "continuity of knowledge" regarding the program.
Broader Geopolitical Context
The intelligence drive comes amid heightened military and diplomatic pressures between Washington and Tehran. According to BBC News, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly raised the prospect of renewing military strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities.
At the same time, President Trump recently reiterated his view that Tehran is seeking to negotiate a deal to end the ongoing conflict, Al-Monitor reported.
